We aim to allay any concerns you may have over your finances, your children's welfare and how things will proceed.  We will provide you with appropriate and realistic advice which we hope will assist you in identifying your rights and obligations at a time when your decisions can be affected by emotion.

The importance of legal advice

Following Divorce or Separation many people can be unaware of legal obligations that they may still have to their ex-partner.  It is of paramount importance that you should be made fully aware of whether or not you have any remaining legal or financial obligations to your former partner.  These obligations could remain even if you thought that all matters had been agreed between you.  Legal Advice could give you the reassurance you are looking for or, more importantly, alert you to a potential problem in the future that you were not aware of.

Costs

As with all our work, we will give you full details of our costs at the outset of matters.  All our Divorce and Separation work is charged at an hourly rate, which you will be advised of at your first meeting.  We are happy to put in place payment systems to assist you, such as Standing Orders or periodic billing.

If you feel you may qualify for Legal Aid kindly raise this with one of our staff when you make your enquiry.  Legal Aid is available for some aspects of Divorce and Matrimonial work.  It is not a service that this Firm offers but we are able to indicate to you whether you would qualify and the options you have open to you.
